Biharsharif: A 21-year-old man died under suspicious circumstances at his in-laws’ residence in Nalanda district late Friday night, with his family alleging that he was strangled to death.
The deceased, Vishwavijay, a resident of Gularia Bigha under Tharthari police station, had been working with a sports company in Gujarat and had returned home just six days ago.
The incident occurred at Amera Kharjama village.According to his brother Vishnu Kumar, Vishwavijay’s wife, Sweety Kumari, took him to her parental home on the pretext of attending a ‘mundan’ ceremony. Around midnight, the in-laws informed the family that he was bleeding from the mouth and was being taken to a hospital.
However, when relatives reached Biharsharif Sadar Hospital, they found Vishwavijay’s body lying unattended outside, with none of the in-laws present.The family alleged long-standing marital disputes and accused the wife of having an extramarital relationship, suspecting a conspiracy behind the death.Police have detained the wife and her parents for questioning. Hilsa SDPO (1) Shailja Kumari said, “The matter is under investigation and further action will be taken after the post-mortem report.”In a separate incident, Mohd Sohan, who was shot in Biharsharif on Thursday, died during treatment at PMCH on Friday night. His minor son, also injured in the attack, is stable after surgery. Police are yet to arrest the named accused.
