DHANBAD: In a major breakthrough, Dhanbad Police have arrested Saifi alias ‘Major’, a close aide of notorious criminal Prince Khan, after he was brought to India from Dubai. The accused was detained at Kolkata Airport upon arrival and is currently being interrogated by the police.
Officials said he will be taken to Dhanbad by Sunday evening for further investigation.Saifi had long been a source of fear among businessmen in Jharkhand. Acting on behalf of Prince Khan, he allegedly threatened traders and extorted money from them. Police sources revealed that he played a key role in the gang’s operations, including coordinating extortion and facilitating illegal financial transactions.Dhanbad SSP Prabhat Kumar confirmed the arrest, stating that Saifi was tracked for a long time before being apprehended.
He added that the accused was brought from Dubai and arrested immediately upon landing in Kolkata.Police also disclosed that Prince Khan, who faces dozens of criminal cases, has reportedly shifted his base from Dubai to Pakistan. The gang is known for targeting prominent businessmen in Jharkhand and sending extorted money abroad through hawala channels.Officials termed the arrest a significant success in the ongoing crackdown against organized crime in the region.
