Rupee gains 12 paise after 3-day record low

MUMBAI: The rupee closed at 93.86, up 12 paise on mixed geopolitical signals, snapping a three-day record-low run. Pressure on the currency eased as international oil prices cooled with Brent crude near $100 versus its $114 peak last week.

Equities were up around 1%-2%, while the yield on the 10-year bond also eased. “Despite some positive signals on de-escalation, the currency remains under pressure amid sustained global uncertainty,” said Jateen Trivedi, analyst with LKP Securities. TNN
