Scientists claim THIS plant-based serum will be the fastest way to regrow hair in weeks; Here’s what we know | – The Times of India

Hair growth in today’s world is not just a beauty goal anymore, but it has also become a symbol of wellness priorities. With rising pollution, stress, product availability, lifestyle imbalances, and styling options, men and women face more issues of hair fall, hair thinning, balding, and slow regrowth.What was once considered an age-old issue is now a struggle for people in their 20s and 30s. After using multiple remedies, treatments, and products, scientists have found a new-age solution that includes no chemicals: a plant-based serum that allegedly helps faster hair regrowth, with results visible in just weeks.

According to a report in Earth.com, a team of scientists created an everyday scalp hair growth serum from a tropical plant-based extract, which proved to regrow hair and improve hair thickness in just 56 days.

This test included 60 adults, and researchers in Taipei ran it.

During the run, each person used one millilitre of the serum every day at night on their scalp for eight weeks, monitoring changes with standardised imaging. The first set of results showed a 25 per cent increase in hair thickness, compared to the placebo group, which occurred in less than two months.However, results may vary depending on lifestyle, genetics, and hormonal variation, but this controlled test has obviously drawn global attention.

The team set out to see if a multi-part serum could nudge more follicles into active growth within just a few weeks. Dr Tsong Min Chang of Schweitzer Biotech Company (SBC) in Taiwan led the team.

What are the ingredients?The proprietary serum uses mild caffeine and panthenol, a moisturiser used in different shampoos. The formula added extracellular vesicles in tiny packets derived from a plant species called ‘Centella asiatica’, aka the Indian Pennywort or Gotu Kola.

It also included fibroblast growth factor 7, a protein cue that supports hair-producing skin cells. When mixed with insulin, a protein signal is created that promotes follicle growth.These choices were not randomly blended, but the growth factor biology links these signals to hair cycling, which is then carefully tested, and the results are observed over time. The next phase of testingNow, larger trials will start soon with people diagnosed with pattern hair loss.

It will start with tracking pictures, shedding rates, and patient-reported outcomes, which will be compared with minoxidil and finasteride directly.The combination of the serum sounds intriguing for now, but more tests are required soon. At the moment, the research shows a measurable signal under a strict and short test routine. Well, only time will tell if it will be a successful product or just another serum with a high price and high promises with no result.
