Actor S. J. Suryah recently made an interesting revelation at the success meet of ‘Love Insurance Kompany.’ The film, directed by Vignesh Shivan and starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, has been receiving a positive response from audiences.
During the event, SJ Suryah talked about a big career choice he made: turning down a movie that later became a huge hit.

SJ Suryah on rejecting ‘Lubber Pandhu ‘
Sharing his experience, S. J. Suryah said a director once approached him with a script and was keen on casting him. “I genuinely liked the story. I suggested a few changes, and he made them. Then I suggested more changes, and he accepted those too,” he said as reported by India Today.
However, the actor later felt that too many changes could affect the director’s original vision. “I told him, ‘I’m moving in a certain direction in my career.
But if you keep changing your story for me, you may lose your individuality as a filmmaker,’” he explained. This honest conversation led him to step away from the project, even though he liked the script.
‘Lubber Pandhu’ becomes a blockbuster after SJ Suryah’s exit
The film he turned down was later revealed to be ‘Lubber Pandhu,’ directed by Tamilarasan Pachamuthu and starring Attakathi Dinesh.
The movie went on to become a major hit after its release. SJ Suryah said, “There were no issues regarding my participation in the movie, but I decided not to be part of it. Now, the movie has turned out to be a hit, and I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the director.” He expressed his appreciation for certain scenes from the movie that touched him emotionally.
SJ Suryah’s praise for Pradeep Ranganathan and a busy lineup ahead
At the same event, S. J. Suryah also spoke about Pradeep Ranganathan’s growth in the industry. “He once performed in front of me, and I told him, ‘You are acting very well, you will become big.’ Within seven years, he has gone from zero to hero,” he said. SJ Suryah is currently busy with multiple projects, including his directorial return ‘Killer’ and acting roles in ‘Sardar 2’ and ‘Bro Code.’
