Ramgarh: Seven persons, including two women, were arrested for robbing a jewellery store in Chitarpur on April 21, the police said on Friday. The special investigation team, which made the arrests, also recovered gold and silver ornaments, firearms, live cartridges, car, motorcycle and phones from the accused.The jewellery store is located on the NH-23, which connects Dhanbad to Ranchi via Ramgarh and Bokaro, and comes under Rajrappa police station limits. After the robbery, five had escaped while two were caught by locals soon after the incident, thrashed and later handed to police. Police began probe after registering a case on the basis of statement by shop owner Vishnu Prasad.The police however did not reveal the value of ornaments which were robbed.Ramgarh SP Mukesh Kumar said those arrested were identified as Subhani Ansari (46), Anand Kumar (28), Manish Kumar (39), Reena Devi (35), Chandrawati Devi (55) Arbaz Ansari (24) and Nasrullah Ansari (26). Shubhani is a resident of Ramgarh while Manish, Reena and Chandrawati are residents of Nalanda in Bihar.Anand, Arbaz and Nasrullah are residents of Ranchi. Subhani and Anand were caught by the crowd while fleeing, the police said.
