With 93.4%, farmer’s daughter tops Class 12 in Meerut

Meerut: Vanshika Upadhyay, daughter of a marginal farmer, has emerged as the district topper in UP Board Class 12 results, securing 93.40%. A student of AS Inter College in Mawana, she scored 467 out of 500 in the science (mathematics) stream.Her mother, Meenakshi Upadhyay, is a homemaker, while her father, Sonu Upadhyay, is a farmer. Despite limited resources, Vanshika achieved the feat without taking private tuition.“I am proud of my daughter; she has made me hold my head high,” her father said.School principal Meghraj Singh described Vanshika as an exceptionally bright student who relied on classroom learning. “She has brought pride to the institution and the district,” he said.A resident of Kavli Gate area near Buddha Pir in Mawana, Vanshika’s achievement has brought immense joy to her family.The same school had a student in the state’s top 10 last year.
