Youth’s body found near rail track in Bihta

In a tragic incident in Patna’s Bihta locality, the lifeless body of 25-year-old Vikas Kumar was found by the railway tracks. His family suspects foul play, stating he departed for work and never made it back home.

Patna: Body of a 25-year-old youth was found near a railway line in Bihta police station area of Patna district late Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Vikas Kumar, son of Shankar Rai, a resident of Narayanpur village in Mushepur.According to police, villagers informed them about the body lying in the bushes at Machchli Gali near Bihta Bazar. A team from the local police station, along with officials from the Forensic Science Laboratory, reached the spot and began an investigation. The identity of the deceased was confirmed through an identity card found with him, after which the family was informed.The deceased’s father, Shankar Rai, said his son left home in the morning for some work in Bihta.

When he failed to return by late night, the family started searching for him. Later, the police informed them that Vikas’s body was found near the railway line. The family has alleged that Vikas was murdered and his body was dumped in the deserted area. They have demanded an investigation into the incident.The police sent the body for postmortem to Danapur Sub-divisional Hospital. SHO Amit Kumar said the police are probing the case from all angles. He added that the exact cause of death will be known only after the autopsy report is received.Danapur SDPO-II, Amrendra Kumar Jha, said a team has been constituted to probe the death. “CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas are being examined by the team,” he said.
