Bijnor: Food department seized expired snacks, chips, and noodles worth over Rs 4 lakh during a raid at a warehouse in Dhakiya Chaman village under the Joya area of Amroha on NH-9 on Thursday evening.
The items were allegedly being repackaged and sold in the market.The warehouse, where Kaleem—a resident of Dhakiya Chaman under Didauli police station—was allegedly storing and repackaging expired food items into new packets, has been sealed. Authorities have issued a notice to the accused and launched further investigation.The raid was led by Assistant Commissioner (Food) Vinay Kumar Agrawal, along with food safety officers Rakesh Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, and Vipin Kumar.Agrawal said, “Acting on a tip-off, officials found large quantities of expired noodles, snacks, chips, namkeen, and sweets, including kaju barfi, stored in the warehouse for repackaging.”Legal action has been initiated under relevant sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act. Officials seized around 10,000 packets of chips, 200 cartons of noodles (7.5 kg each), 1,200 packets of peanut namkeen, 2,500 packets of moong dal namkeen, 400 packets each of kaju barfi and rusk, and nearly 100 kg of loose namkeen stored in polythene bags.
