Edmonton Oilers star player Connor McDavid nearly suffered a severe injury when he was involved in a collision at centre ice, and the Oilers lost 6-4 to the Anaheim Ducks. The Oilers captain had stepped out of the ice, but quickly rejoined it, though he appeared under his usual dominating standard during the game.Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch indicated that he did not have any medical update but hoped that they would understand after the assessment. McDavid himself told the incident down, claiming that he merely rolled up on the play.
Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid NHL Game 2 injury update
After being hit by Anaheim Ducks player Adam Henleman in Goal-2, Connor McDavid dodged a major concern about injury in Game-2 against the Ducks in Edmonton.Having gotten mixed up with his teammate Mattias Ekholm and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Ian Moore, McDavid seemed to have ended up in an awkward position with his skate and took a moment off the ice in the second period before he was able to resume play. Returning, McDavid found it difficult to make an impact on the game, ending the game with no points in his second successive playoff appearance. The Oilers failed to get a single goal on the power play (also 0-4), and the Ducks took advantage of special teams and late goals and won 6-4. The outcome knotted the series 1-1 and set the tempo to Game 3 in Anaheim, where Edmonton has to deal with the rhythm of McDavid, as well as general offensive performance.
