New Delhi: Police arrested a husband-wife duo in connection with the murder of an elderly man in central Delhi’s Mandir Marg area. The motive behind the crime was a dispute related to money lending.
The wife has also been charged with attempting to destroy evidence following the murder.The accused have been identified as Azad and Rubina.Police received information about the incident at around 5.30 pm. The victim, identified as Ram, was found in a critical condition and was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination. Based on initial findings and statements from family members, a case of murder was registered.During the course of the investigation, police identified and apprehended the accused couple. Azad revealed that he had approached the elderly man for a loan, which led to an argument between the two. The dispute escalated, ultimately resulting in the murder.Rubina admitted that she attempted to destroy evidence by washing Azad’s blood-stained clothes after the incident.
