Who is Pinda aka Gurbaaz Singh?
In ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, Udaybir essays Gurbaaz Singh, fondly known as Pinda, the childhood friend of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh.
Set against a gritty backdrop, Pinda’s journey is anything but linear. While he begins as a trusted ally, his eventual shift places him at odds with Jassi, adding a compelling emotional conflict to the narrative. Stepping into a role that demanded portraying two distinct age phases, Udaybir underwent a rigorous physical transformation. The actor revealed that he gained and shed 15 kilos to convincingly play both a 20-year-old and a 40-year-old version of his character. Sharing his journey, he wrote, “Played a 20-year-old boy and a 40-year-old man in the same film… gained & lost 15 kgs to look the part. Pushed my limits I didn’t know I had.

Udaybir Sandhu’s transition from ‘Gold’ to ‘Amar Singh Chamkila ’
Before featuring in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, Udaybir began his Bollywood journey with ‘Gold’ (2018), starring Akshay Kumar. Interestingly, being a national-level hockey player from Punjab, he also contributed behind the scenes by helping train actors for the sport.He further expanded his filmography with roles in ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, directed by Imtiaz Ali, where he shared screen space with Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
Additionally, he appeared in ‘Ikk Kudi’ alongside Shehnaaz Gill, showcasing his range across different genres.

Meanwhile, the success of the franchise continues to break records. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has reportedly amassed a staggering global collection of approximately Rs 1,757 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films worldwide. It currently stands just behind ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, which holds the top spot with around Rs 1,788 crore, keeping the race for the record intensely close.
