IIIT-Bhagalpur is now accepting applications for its M Tech and PhD programs commencing July 2026. Aspiring students can pursue specializations in Artificial Intelligence, VLSI, and Electric Vehicle Technology for M Tech. PhD admissions are open for engineering and mathematics graduates. The application window closes June 15, 2026.
Patna: The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Bhagalpur has announced the commencement of admissions to its Master of Technology (M Tech) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the next academic session beginning in July 2026.
The institute, recognised as an institute of national importance by the Union ministry of education, is offering advanced research and specialised technical education across several cutting-edge disciplines.The M Tech programme is being offered in three primary specialisations, namely, artificial intelligence and data science (offered by the department of computer science and engineering), VLSI and embedded systems (offered by the department of electronics and communication engineering) and electric vehicle technology (offered by the department of mechatronics and automation engineering).
Each specialisation has an intake of 20 seats.Candidates can apply for admission to these courses under different categories, including regular (GATE-qualified-through CCMT, 5 seats each department), part-time, sponsored, and self-financed.Admission to Ph D programmes is open to both engineering and mathematics students. Desirous candidates can apply for admission to the departments concerned.The window for online application for admission to these programmes opened on April 17 and the same will remain active until June 15, 2026. Intimation for written test/interview will be made on June 19, and offline written test/interview will be held on June 30. The results of the entrance test will be declared on July 6 and the last date of admission is July 17, according to the professor-in-charge, admission.
