NEW DELHI: Deepika Kumari once again showed why she remains India’s most dependable name in archery, clinching gold at the National Ranking Tournament in New Delhi with a performance built on control and confidence.Up against Ankita Bhakat in the senior women’s recurve final, Deepika kept things tight from the very first end. She closed out the match 7-1 to take the top spot, while Ankita finished with silver after an impressive campaign.Deepika spoke about being in a good space with her preparation and welcomed the level of competition at the event. She believed that the strong domestic contests helped sharpen her game, especially with bigger challenges ahead.The senior men’s final saw Aarav Punia rise to the occasion, defeating Sukhchain Singh 7-3. Aarav looked steady throughout, handling the pressure better in crucial moments to secure the gold.With major international events such as the Asian Games and key qualification tournaments approaching, this outing proved valuable for Deepika and Aarav.
