Nishant Kumar Joins JD(U) in Jharkhand, Calls for CM Appointment

Ranchi: State JD(U) members have extended their good wishes to Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, for joining the party. Rajya Sabha MP and Jharkhand party unit president Khiru Mahto has demanded that Nishant should be appointed as the next Bihar CM.Mahto stated, “Party workers are heartbroken over Nitish filing papers for RS polls. They are, however, happy over Nishant joining politics. NDA MLAs should unanimously elect him as the next CM. He is highly educated. In any case, govt is run by a system and bureaucrats.”Mahto expressed hope that after Nitish joins the Rajya Sabha, he would get time to visit Jharkhand for party work and ensure it emerges as a strong force in the state.

Senior MLA Saryu Roy extended his good wishes to Nishant but opined that he was a new face. He added that the challenges in future would judge his potential.JD(U) state spokesperson Sagar Kumar said that Nishant’s leadership would play an important role in the expansion of the party. Several other state members also expressed happiness that Nishant joined the party.Mahto was re-elected as JD(U) state president on Saturday. Mahto said that he, along with Roy and other members, would strengthen the party from panchayat to the district levels.Mahto also met Nitish at his residential office in Patna on Sunday and submitted the organisational election report of Jharkhand.
