As Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ is setting new benchmarks at the box office, actor Vijay Varma couldn’t help but shower praise on his ‘Gully Boy’ co-star for his powerful turn as Hamza. Calling it a “coincidence” that they share the same character name, Vijay compared it to his own dark portrayal in ‘Darlings’, quipping that Ranveer has “hit it out of the park” and retelling what a Hamza can be.

Vijay Varma’s Hamza character
For the unversed, Vijay Varma played Hamza in the Alia Bhat starrer ‘Darlings’, where his character was a dark and negative person. He played a man who hurt his wife and created fear. On the other side, Ranveer’s Hamza is strong and brave.
A plays a spy who goes inside enemy land to protect his country. Both characters share the same name, but they are very different in heart and action.

Vijay also recalled working with Ranveer Singh in ‘Gully Boy’. He shared the film helped him. He said, “Gully Boy was a significant moment in my life.” He added, “I remember I was down in the dumps when that film happened to me. It saved me and gave me a career.” He also called Ranveer “one of the finest co-actors I’ve worked with.”
