Woman’s body found in field in Kakori; rape and murder suspected

Panic gripped Kakori after the body of an unidentified woman, estimated to be around 35 years old, was found lying in an agricultural field in Madarpur village on Thursday morning

Lucknow: The body of an unidentified woman, estimated to be around 35 years, was found lying in an agricultural field in Madarpur village of Kakori area on Thursday morning. The field belongs to a local resident, Rafiq.According to villagers, the body was spotted around 8 am, following which police were alerted. Preliminary observations suggest that the woman may have been brutally assaulted before being murdered, with strong suspicion of sexual assault.Multiple injury marks were found on her head and body, particularly on both hands, where dark bruises consistent with beating by sticks were visible. The woman was found wearing a maxi and was barefoot, while her petticoat and dupatta were lying nearby.On receiving information, police teams from Kakori, Para and Dubagga police stations reached the spot along with Dhananjay Kushwaha. A forensic team was also deployed to collect evidence from the scene.“The body will be sent for post-mortem, and efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased. Police have begun questioning locals and are examining all possible angles,” said DCP West Zone Kamlesh Dixit.
