While speaking to PEOPLE, Kate confessed that the entire craziness surrounding her Oscar nomination for ‘Song Sung Blue’ was “so fun!” However, she also took the opportunity to take a step back and relax. “I took spring break with my kids, and I just shut everything down,” she said at the ‘Running Point Season 2’ premiere.

Describing their friendship, Kate said, “I think, not only is it wonderful, but I think we both do see the growth.”Then, while talking about Buss, Hudson added, “She was always someone who was very protective of me.
She kind of put her arm around me and made sure I stayed out of trouble. But then to come back at this time in our life and have this experience together has been really, really wonderful and very, very cozy, I guess is the word.”
